What Just Earned a Spot in the Fitness Aisle

The fitness aisle just went from six picks to eight, and two of the original six finally got real links instead of buttons that quietly went nowhere. Sorry about that — it's fixed now.

The suspension trainer is now the actual TRX GO, not a generic knockoff wearing a similar description. It costs more than a no-name version, and that's the point: the brand name is buying webbing that survives years of door-anchor tension, not just a lower price tag.

The resistance bands are Fit Simplify's loop set, which is a different animal than the tube-and-handle bands we'd been vaguely describing before — loops are better for legs and glutes, tubes with handles are better for rows and presses. Worth knowing before you buy either one expecting the other.

Bala Bangles and a color-coded Amazon Basics dumbbell set round it out, for the days you want actual added weight instead of resistance. Pick one, not both — they solve the same problem two different ways.

FITNESS
~$130

TRX GO Suspension Trainer

The actual TRX, not a generic knockoff — anchors over any door, uses your own bodyweight for a genuinely full-body session, and packs into a small bag for travel.

cost/use <$0.01storage a small bag

meaningfully pricier than a generic door-anchor trainer — you're paying for TRX's own webbing durability and app access, not just the mechanism. Price is an estimate and worth confirming before buying. Also takes a session or two to learn the adjustments.

FITNESS
~$10

Fit Simplify resistance loop bands (set of 5)

Five loop bands across light to extra-heavy resistance, with a carry bag and printed guide — the best-selling version of this exact product, not a random knockoff.

cost/use <$0.01storage a drawer

these are loop bands, not tube bands with handles — great for legs, glutes, and general resistance work, but not a stand-in for banded rows or presses. Price is an estimate; it moves around by a couple dollars depending on the bundle Amazon has in stock.

FITNESS
~$48

Bala Bangles wrist/ankle weights, 1.5 lb (pair)

Silicone-wrapped weights that double as a wrist or ankle band — the actual Bala, the brand everyone's copying, not a generic weighted cuff. Adds resistance to a walk, a yoga flow, or Pilates without hauling out a dumbbell.

cost/use <$0.01storage wear them or a drawer

you're paying a real premium for the brand name on what's functionally a soft weighted cuff — a generic version does the same job for less if that doesn't matter to you. Price is an estimate; confirm the exact weight and color before buying.

FITNESS
~$40

Amazon Basics neoprene dumbbell set, color-coded

Neoprene coating so they don't slip out of your hand or dent the floor, color-coded by weight so you're not squinting at stamped numbers mid-set — the budget standard for a reason.

cost/use <$0.01storage a drawer or shelf

this listing covers several different weight-pair configurations, so double-check exactly which pounds you're ordering before buying — price and contents shift by option. Price shown is an estimate.
